I bought my first four pack from Ace to use in my fire pit. They burn clean and for a really long time. By morning, nothing is left but ash. EVERYTHING burns away. I would have rated these a 5, but it took me a while to figure out the best way to light. After reading the instructions and asking my wife, she suggested to take a screwdriver and hammer to break one of the bricks apart. Once broken, starting a fire was a breeze because the broken brick served as kindling. I would recommend this product to anyone that has a fire pit, wooden stove or fireplace. I'll be experimenting with BBQ this spring so I'll also try them for that. Oh, and my wife is one of those Vegan, green people. When I was lighting the MOJOBRICKs I treated them like all wood logs (the package said they are100% all hardwood). The flame lasted about 4.5 to 5 hours. After the fire was started I just threw on another brick and it ignited immediately and burned for hours. Two days later I used the rest of my MOJOBRICKS to make another fire, after about 5 hours I ran out of bricks and noticed that there was still heat producing ash so I just put a wood log on the smoldering ash, it was so hot that the log ignited in minutes. The wood burning smell it produces is not harsh, clean up is very easy since fire gets so hot all material is incinerated. Mojobricks Firewood Alternative |
